Zanzibar’s colourful history is a saga of travellers and traders, raiders and colonisers. To its shores came Sumerians, Assyrians, Egyptians, Phoenicians, Indians, Chinese, Malays, Persians, Portuguese, Arabs, Dutch and the British, each leaving behind a legacy of their stay. From the island the great European explorers – Burton, Speke, Livingstone, Stanley – set off for their voyages of discovery into the vast, uncharted wilderness of the great African hinterland. Bantu tribes from the mainland were the first inhabitants of the island, but by 700 AD the Indian Ocean trade winds had brought Persians and Arabs to its shores.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Safari Briefing at Stone Town Hotel

Arrive in Zanzibar meet and greet at Zanzibar airport/Seaport and transfer to Stone town Hotel (HB), briefing by our professional guide, and day at leisure, overnight at the Dhow Palace Hotel.

Day 2: Full Jozani forest and Dolphins Tour

After breakfast we drive to Kizimkazi fishing village for a dolphin tour, after arriving we take a motorized boat and start searching for dolphins. If we lucky we can use about 5 to 10 minutes cruising on search of dolphins. After swimming with them we go to shallow water for snorkelling before getting back to the beach for taking shower, have lunch and a bit of beach leisure. After leisure we drive to Jozani forest to see the red colobus monkeys and visit the floating mangrove bridge. Jozani has an excellent nature trail and the guides are well trained and informative. A walk through this impressive flora and fauna is one of the highlights Zanzibar has to offer. After the tour we drive back to Dhow Palace Hotel (HB) for dinner and stay overnight,

Day 3: Historic sites, Shopping and Spice Tour

After Breakfast pick up around 08:00 for City tour to visit the historical sites of Stone Town and shopping in the Antique and gift shops. A guided town tour takes you through narrow streets of the old Stone Town, where history seems to stand still. Visit the House of Wonders, Fredy Mercury House, the Arab Fort, Zanzibar’s bustling market, former slave market, Tip Tipp House, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors and balconies, two cathedrals and many mosques. Lunch at Mtoni Marine Restaurant and after lunch proceed to Spice farms looking for spices and tropical fruits. and thereafter transfer to the Beach Dhow Palace Hotel (HB) Dinner and Overnight

Day 4: Breakfast and Transfer to Harbor/Airport

After your breakfast you will be transfer to the Seaport or Airport to catch your flight back home or continue with other arrangement.
